Terms of Use
Last updated 29 October 2026
The short version. CarryOn lets you see and control your own Mac from your iPhone or iPad. Use it on computers that are yours or that you're allowed to control. You decide what Cara and your agents do, and you're responsible for it. CarryOn is provided as it is.
Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Appnest Technologies LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of CarryOn. They cover the CarryOn app for iPhone and iPad, CarryOn for Mac, CarryOn's server and this website (together, "CarryOn"). By using CarryOn you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
The iPhone and iPad app is also licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If the two disagree about the app, Apple's agreement applies.
Using CarryOn
- Only computers you may control. Pair CarryOn only with Macs that are yours, or that you have permission to control. Don't use it to reach anyone else's computer, accounts or data without their permission.
- Keep your devices safe. A paired device can control your Mac. Keep it locked, keep Face ID on, and revoke any device you lose or give away from CarryOn on your Mac.
- Follow the law. Don't use CarryOn for anything illegal, to harm others, or to break the terms of the apps and services you reach through it.
- Don't attack the service. Don't try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits of CarryOn's server, or use it for anything other than CarryOn.
Cara, AI and your agents
Cara, dictation and other features use AI models from Google, OpenAI and others, and Cara can use your own Claude Code. AI can misunderstand you, get things wrong or act on the wrong thing. Check what matters before you rely on it.
Cara asks for your yes before she sends, deletes or pays for anything. When you approve an action, or allow one of your agents to do something, you're responsible for what it does. The agents on your Mac (Claude Code, Codex and others) are other companies' products, used under your own accounts and their terms.
Other services
CarryOn works with services we don't run, such as Apple, Google, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Anthropic and Tailscale. When you use your own account or your own keys with them, their terms apply, and any charges from them are between you and them.
Purchases
If CarryOn offers paid features, they're sold through the App Store, and Apple handles payment, renewals and refunds under its terms. Fair-use limits on AI features will be shown in the app.
What's yours and what's ours
Everything on your Mac, and everything you say, type or create with CarryOn, stays yours. CarryOn itself, its name, its icon and its design are ours. We give you a personal licence to use CarryOn under these terms; you may not sell, copy or redistribute it.
Changes and availability
We keep improving CarryOn, so features may change or be removed. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk. You can stop using CarryOn at any time by deleting the apps.
No warranty
CarryOn is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always work, be available, be free of errors, or that AI features will be correct. Keep backups of anything important on your Mac.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from your use of CarryOn, including actions taken by Cara or your agents that you approved. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for CarryOn in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Using CarryOn after a change means you accept the new terms.
