What do I need?
A Mac on macOS 15 or later, and an iPhone or iPad on iOS 26 or iPadOS 26. CarryOn is two apps: one on your device, a small one on your Mac.
Do I need an iPhone Duo?
No. CarryOn runs on iPhone and iPad. On iPhone Duo it also works half open like a small laptop, and on the cover screen.
Do I need Tailscale, or to open ports?
No. It connects by itself on the same Wi-Fi, directly across the internet, or through a relay that can't read your data. If you use Tailscale, it works over that too.
Does my screen go through your servers?
Your picture, keys, sound and files travel end to end between your own devices. A relay can pass them along but can't read them. Voice and Cara's quick mind do go through our server. Settings › Your Keys lists what goes where, and your own keys skip it.
Will Cara do things without asking?
She asks before anything that sends, deletes, pays or posts, and she never touches passwords or money apps.
Which agents does it work with?
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Cursor sessions show up by themselves.
How is it different from Sidecar?
Sidecar makes an iPad nearby a second screen. CarryOn brings your whole Mac to an iPhone or iPad anywhere, with its sound, your voice, and your agents.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes, on the same Wi-Fi. You need the internet only to reach your Mac from somewhere else.
